The Industry Competence Assessment Scheme aims to provide local electronics SMEs effective methodologies in identifying the most critical elements and gaps for ensuring product quality for the future supply to finished smart medical and healthcare device manufacturers, as well as identifying the effective upgrading approach for their current operational processes. Under the scheme, 5 pilot companies have been selected in which their business covered most of the components being used in smart medical and healthcare devices.

In the program, the project team has conducted on-site visits and reviewed their documents and working environments and provided suggestions for areas of improvement. Most of the findings and recommendations have been included in the later published Industry Guidebook《進入醫療器械行業實施指南》to benefit other industry stakeholders.
